Mahur (Renuka Devi Temple):It is believed that a Yadava King of Devgiri had constructed the temple about 800-900 years ago. Mahur is amongst the four places of pilgrimage having the abodes of the three and a half goddesses that are of major importance in the state of Maharashtra. The other three, respectively are, Kolhapur, Tuljapur and Saptashringi.

Mahur is the abode of Goddess Renuka, mother of Lord Parashuram. Many temples can be seen here, with the strategically important Ramgad Fort. The place is in Kinwat Taluka and it is about 130 km away from Nanded city. Temples of Lord Parashuram and Lord Dattatreya are also constructed in the neighbourhood. There are caves around the surrounding hills, the view being quite breathtaking. Maharashtra Tourism Development Co-operation has its guesthouse built there for pilgrims` progress.

A pilgrim centre of great significance, Mahur is considered to be one of the Shaktipith of Maharashtra. The temple of Goddess Renuka Devi is situated on a hillock abounding in natural beauty at a distance of about 2.415 km. from the village of Mahur. The Renuka Devi Temple is said to have been constructed by a ruler of the Yadavas of Devagiri eight to nine hundred years ago. On the day of Dassehra every year a very big fair is held in honour of Renuka devi. Mahur is about 90Km from Yavatmal.
